When you’re searching for something fun, exciting and a little out of the ordinary, consider windsurfing. Not only is it exciting but it’s one of the most challenging water sports you’ll ever enjoy. Just imagine, if you can, sailing across the water on basically nothing but a small meter board being powered by the wind blowing and gliding you along the water by a single sail.

It’s a combination of sailing and surfing at the same time but in miniature style. You have to steer by tilting the mast and sail and it can be very challenging to control. Still, anyone can try their hand at windsurfing regardless of their gender or age. That is, as long as you don’t mind getting tossed in the water a few times and climbing back on board to try again until you get the hang of it. You do need to be prepared because you’ll probably end up spending more time in the water than sailing across it when you first begin.

Having the opportunity to do exciting sports such as windsurfing, is just one of the many advantages of living in Florida. Another is living in an area where the weather is warm and humid most of the time. However, if you only have the opportunity to visit our beautiful state once in awhile, I’d recommend adding windsurfing to your “to do” list when planning out your vacation.

If you’re like me, after you get the hang of it, windsurfing very well may be your new favorite water sport. It’s nothing else to say about it except, it’s the most awesome water sport I’ve ever tired and everyone should try it at least once in their lifetime!
