Captain Jonas Tips For Selecting The Best Marine GPS For Your Needs

Many boating enthusiasts, and serious mariners alike, find marine Global Positioning System (GPS) devices to be quite advantageous. These handy items use information that is beamed from satellites orbiting the earth to inform the user as to his or her precise global location, as well as various other data such as coastal navigation and digital nautical maps. Captain Jonas Tips for Buying the Right Boat for You

Owning a boat is not a cheap experience, but it can be very rewarding and enjoyable. kevin kay WATCH OUT FOR NEW CRAB POSTS IN NORTH FORK

Just spent the day on the water, its like a mine field in the North Fork just before the Rooservelt Bridge. Some idiot put in about 40 pots, all the markes are white, and they blend in with thesun hitting the water, and there ALL in the channel. Something should and must be done about this. I was out last week and they were not there. If you know who owns them, you might want to talk to him about moving them, because there not going to be there much longer.

Capt Tris Colket Vertical Jig Fishing

There is no doubt in my mind that there are times when a big bait dictates the size of your catch. While it's not always the case and one should always keep in mind other approaches like 'matching the hatch' or otherwise selecting the appropriate rig, jig, lure or bait for any number of other reasons; when it comes to vertical jigging, size matters.

Let's take big grouper as an example. In most cases, a big gag…

Boats remaining in the water: Double all lines. Rig crossing spring lines fore and aft. Attach lines high on pilings to allow for tidal rise or surge. Make sure lines will not slip off pilings. Inspect pilings and choose those that seem strongest…

Handling Accidents and Breakdowns on the Water

All things fail at some time or other, and boats are certainly no exception. Many happy boating days become disastrous for some families because their vessel has some physical or mechanical problem. The more time you spend on your boat, the higher the chances that it might happen to you someday.

Captain Jonas How To Register A Boat In Florida

Registering a boat in Florida can be a bit of a hassle. There are a large number of minute and hair splitting rules that you need to follow. The worst part is annual renewals; that can be a pain for those who do not like to get too near to bureaucracy. However, not registering a vessel that legally requires registration can cause a lot of grief with the law, in this case, the Coast Guard. Since the Florida waters are one of the main gateways of illegal drugs into the country, the law is…
