Owning a boat is not a cheap experience, but it can be very rewarding and enjoyable. When you select a boat, keep in mind not simply the original cost, but also the longer-term costs of owning and maintaining your boat. You won't enjoy a boat that drains your savings account, and if you are buying a boat for the first time, it's even more important to consider many factors before you buy.

Just spent the day on the water, its like a mine field in the North Fork just before the Rooservelt Bridge. Some idiot put in about 40 pots, all the markes are white, and they blend in with thesun hitting the water, and there ALL in the channel. Something should and must be done about this. I was out last week and they were not there. If you know who owns them, you might want to talk to him about moving them, because there not going to be there much longer.

There is no doubt in my mind that there are times when a big bait dictates the size of your catch. While it's not always the case and one should always keep in mind other approaches like 'matching the hatch' or otherwise selecting the appropriate rig, jig, lure or bait for any number of other reasons; when it comes to vertical jigging, size matters.
Let's take big grouper as an example. In most cases, a big gag…

All things fail at some time or other, and boats are certainly no exception. Many happy boating days become disastrous for some families because their vessel has some physical or mechanical problem. The more time you spend on your boat, the higher the chances that it might happen to you someday.Added by Captain Jonas on June 7, 2010 at 11:08am — No Comments
When spring comes and you're ready to take your boat out for the first launch of the season, remember to go through the steps of preparing it properly. When you sit around for a long time, you get lazy, and your boat is much the same. It has to be checked out, just as you going to a doctor for your annual… Continue
